PURPOSE:

Supervise carrot production flow at Premier Packing.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Coordinate between sales and shipping to schedule production. Monitor cull system and maintain continuous production flow. Ensure that all mechanical and electrical systems are functioning properly on the production line. Promptly report all malfunctions requiring maintenance to the Maintenance Manager or Maintenance Lead person on duty. Record all production data by field name and number as required. Schedule production personnel as needed. Coordinate all personnel issues, including payroll status changes, with the Production Manager or Operations Manager. Train, supervise, and ensure satisfactory performance of all production personnel. Document all disciplinary actions and periodically review with the Production Manager or Operations Manager. Document and ensure adequate employee safety training, including “job specific”, is performed on a regular basis. Enforce (GMP’s) Grimmway Manufacturing Practices, equipment specific safety policies, proper PPE, Lockout/Tag out and confined spaces procedures. Ensure the plant and equipment are clean and sanitized including; building structure and process equipment within deadline guidelines. Ensure that all equipment and personnel are operating safely. Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Continuous use of both hands; including grasping, pulling and pushing. Sight, hearing, lifting, standing, climbing stairways, walking and balancing both feet on even and uneven surfaces, bending, twisting, crawling, stooping, kneeling, reaching forward, reaching overhead, reaching below shoulder, wrist turning, neck turning. Must be able to work in different temperatures

Requirements

JOB QUALIFICATIONS: Must have a minimum of 3 year managerial experience in production operations and 1 year of sanitation experience. Must have good knowledge of company policies and procedures. Must have knowledge of raw material to finished product. Must understand organic process and Food Safety Practices. Must be able to understand and monitor product flow. Must be computer literate (Microsoft word, Excel, Outlook) including (GIS) Grimmway Information System and Infor system. Must have the ability to set up production using a production order sheet. Must have the ability to work with people and have good communication skills. Must have the ability to manage the staff, equipment, and product. Must have the ability to train and direct all subordinates. Must be Bi-lingual (English/Spanish). Must pass drug and alcohol exam.
