Cal-Organic Rainbow Baby Carrots a ‘Big Hit’ at 8th Annual Giant Race in San Francisco
Grimmway Farms Provides Nearly 30,000 Rainbow Baby Carrot Snack Packs
to Runners, Families, and Friends at Baseball-Themed Event
SAN FRANCISCO, CA, August 29, 2017 – Grimmway Farms and Cal-Organic Farms greeted tens-of-thousands of racers with organic rainbow baby carrots as they crossed the finish line of yesterday’s 8th annual Giant Race in San Francisco. The healthy carrot snack giveaway was just one of the many ways that Grimmway and Cal-Organic Farms contributed as official food line sponsors of the race that draws participants from all over the country.
“Promoting health and fitness is very important to us,” said Jeff Huckaby, President and CEO of Grimmway Farms. “SF Giant Race is an exciting, family-friendly experience that we are proud to have sponsored since 2014. Our Grimmway team always enjoys connecting with attendees, sharing our nutritious products, and contributing to the one-of-a-kind event.”
Grimmway Farms employees were on hand to staff a booth at the Giant Race expo where they met and spoke with runners, friends, and families about the company, its products, and farming practices while also distributing free packages of Cal-Organic Farms rainbow baby carrots. Surplus inventory of carrots was donated to local food banks.
Huckaby, who was present for the event and activities, added: “We were pleased to see so many participants enjoying our popular Cal-Organic rainbow baby carrots. They’re a healthy and flavorful alternative to fried or salty snacks, and the athletes enjoyed the refreshing, crisp option after their long run along the beautiful San Francisco embarcadero.”
The naturally-colored varieties that make up Cal-Organic’s rainbow baby carrots include 1) purple, which have an earthy flavor; 2) white, which are smooth and mild; 3) orange, which are both refreshing and crisp; and 4) yellow, which are the sweetest of the bunch. All can be enjoyed in an array of forms such as raw, roasted, or sliced in a salad.
