Position Summary:

The Data Engineering Manager will be the data architect for the data warehouse at Grimmway Farms. This position will develop and manage the Grimmway Farms data warehouse. This position is responsible for organizational data requirements gathering, conceptual design, rapid prototyping of data marts, development of ETL, data warehouse planning, and implementation. Additionally, this position will develop comprehensive data analytics, reports, and dashboards, and manage all associated processes and management of the data warehouse program.

Grimmway Farms Data Engineering, Reporting and Warehouse Support:

  • Leadership: Lead a forward facing technical team that is responsible for data warehouse, data marts, ETL, and reporting across the organization
  • Business Engagement: A constant working knowledge of what drives the business that created through nearly constant communication; identifying the decision makers, collaborating with stakeholders, and delivering solutions that drive the business of our customers. Play a lead role to layout short and long term planning for master data management at Grimmway Farms
  • Data Warehouse Administration: Provide design, administration, and development for the Data Warehouse, Data Marts, and Data Analytics. Provide data integration, manipulation, custom algorithms, and process improvement for software products.
  • Liaison between customers and vendors: Assist the business with process improvement by implementing DDA and Machine Learning algorithms. Engage all user groups and vendors to find new solutions for using and building products. Maintain an innovative pace with technologies. Organize and execute training classes for the customers.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Designs, creates, tests and maintains a portfolio of dashboards, reports, and scorecards.
  •  Analyze requirements and help in eliciting measurable key performance indicators.
  • Create & execute coding standards for Data Warehouse, data quality, data governance processes addressing data provisioning & security, data quality processes, process catalogs and checklists
  • Verify and validate all the deliverable components before release to the Production Environment.
  • Successful production release and version control of the code assets.
  • Collaborative design, technical architecture, infrastructure architecture and other documents in appropriate repositories or collaborative tools for quick access.
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners to deliver various BI visualization solutions

Physical Requirements:

Continuous use of both hands; including grasping, pulling and pushing; lifting, standing, climbing, walking and balancing both feet on even and uneven surfaces; bending, twisting, crawling, stooping, kneeling reaching forward, reaching overhead, reaching below shoulder, wrist turning, neck turning, sight, and hearing. Must be able to work indoors/outdoors in wet, cold and hot environments.

Requirements

Job Qualifications: 4-year college degree from accredited institution – Computer Science, MIS, or comparable preferred. Pass pre-placement drug test and background investigation. Data Engineering: 7-10 years of data warehouse design and implementation experience including implementing data models (logical and physical), data warehouse design, and data engineering best practices. Expertise and experience of implementing Kimball methodology and time dimensions. Strong relationship/team building skills, outstanding written and verbal communication skills with a history of generating business asset buy-in. History of rapidly producing data mart prototypes and ETL processes from source systems. Experience in developing and Implementing ETL processes, Data Governance processes, and Data Quality KPI’s. Technical & design expertise on Data warehouse for various Analytics & BI projects. Vast understanding of complex reporting, reporting requirements, development, testing, UAT, and deployment to production environment. Expert in SQL language, using Microsoft or Oracle platform including design, creation, and maintaining: Schema, Views, Stored Procedures, Data Marts, Triggers, SSIS, SQL Plus and Logical Models. Expertise in the use and training of Business Intelligence platforms such as Spotfire, Tableau, Qik, Microsoft Power BI. Expertise in the following software development areas are a plus: NET, SSRS, SSIS, SSAS, Agile, SCRUM, Telerik, Python, ESRI Widgets, R, JavaScript, jquery, SOAP and REST API.
